Kambaku Lodge in Timbavati Game Reserve

It has been a couple of amazing days. After one night in Johannesburg we flew to Hoedspruit in South Africa and came here to a safari lodge in the middle of the African bush. We have spent the last two days going on safaris. It has been invigorating to be out here amongst all these beautiful animals. We’ve seen zebra, giraffe, hippopotamus, elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo, and many more all in their natural habitat. Today we had a really cool experience seeing a male leopard chase another male leopard. We then chased one of those leopards in our safari Land Rover to get an up close look. Not many people get the chance to see leopards so we were very lucky. Immediately after, our guides started tracking a pair of lions. We didn’t expect to actually find and see the lions after an hour and a half of tracking but with the skills of two professional trackers we found them. We parked the Rover a few feet away as we got an up close look. I am doing well. I am hanging in there and trying to enjoy the most of this amazing experience. When we are in hot pursuit of an animal I’m able to forget the pain for a moment and that makes this trip all worth it. Hope all is well with everyone back home. I greatly appreciate all the support that you offer me. Thanks for the comments made thus far on my blog and the many prayers. It is good to know that so many of you care. - Levi

Levi: It sounds like your trip is living up to what you wanted. I am so glad you are enjoying it. You are such a great example to me. Your faith, and your optimism do much to cheer me up, and to make me appreciate my life. I am so glad you are my nephew. I love you so much, and can't wait to hear more of your trip and experiences. You are one fun guy to travel with, and I will never forget the great time we had in Alaska!

Love,
Aunt Leanne

This is such exciting news! I'm so glad that you have been able to see all of the safari animals. Zach said that he wants to see the animals, too, so I told him that I would take him to the zoo, while you are gone. Maybe someday, Zach will be able to follow in his uncle Levi's footsteps and travel to Africa and around the world to see these animals. Trent is in a plane on the way to Atlanta. He is excited to meet up with you on Sunday at another reserve. Love you tons and am so happy for you!

This trip seems to be exactly what you needed. The peeing giraffe seems so.....you. I wasn't at all surprised to see it on your blog. I'm so glad that it was. We can't wait to hear more. You are making us all want to go there ourselves. Keep smiling. It looks good on you.

Ho Levi,
After reading of your incredible experiences with the animals of Africa, I thought I'd share my own memories of that with you. You can compare with yours. (There is NO comparison) I was in Chad and North Cameroon many years ago. I got deathly ill (the creeping crud, you know) and on the day of the photo safari, I lay in my bunk sick while the rest of the group went on the safari!! I was sick the whole time I was there. On the last day, as we drove to the airport, I finally got to see some animals. But guess what kind of camera I had?? Right!, something you've probably never even heard of....a Kodak Instamatic! Compare that with the thing your mom uses to take pictures! When I got my pictures back, they looked like distant photos of trees, and I would think, "Now is that a lion or an elephant under those trees?" !!!!! Oh, the wonders of modern toys!!!!! I love the blogspot. Keep the comments and photos coming, and FLY HIGH!!!
Love ya! Aunt Reida
